The terrace and common areas

You climb a staircase from the patio and come out on the roof of the house. Up there are wooden tables, chairs, a barbecue and, straight ahead, the ocean. There are no buildings in the way: Pichilemu is low-rise and LOF is 300 metres from Playa Principal, so the view is direct.

It is the part of the house that gets used the most and planned the least. People go up for breakfast in the sun, to dry off after the water, to eat something, to wait for the sunset. From the patio to the terrace is thirty seconds, and that closeness explains a lot: nobody has to decide to go up, they just go up.

The barbecue is there for guests to use. If you are going to grill, it helps to mention it at reception so it can be coordinated with the rest of the house — especially in summer, when there are more people up there.

The rest of the house

The terrace is the top floor of a house that is more than 80 years old, and the rest of it is open to guests too. All of this is used at no cost and without booking.

The kitchen

There is a fully equipped kitchen for guests to use, with what you need to really cook, and a big dining room next to it. It does not matter whether you are a beginner or a great cook: the point is sharing. Pichilemu has a supermarket and a market a few blocks away, so many people end up cooking and taking it upstairs to eat.
